I’d really love a career in the book trade. I worked in a bookshop for a couple of years in my youth and I’ve worked as a librarian in education for nearly 9 years. I also write book reviews occassionaly for a library journal.

I’d love to change my job, but still work with books. Any ideas of how to get into the industry. I am somewhat restricted to school hours/term time work. I’d really apprechiate any suggestions, or advice if you have experience.

Well, I got an interview for the role for either a supervisor or a bookseller and was wondering if anyone worked there and could help me with questions that are asked and the best answers that I should give.

i’m 17, and i would like to get a job at borders, or any other bookshop for that matter, as reading is one of my biggest passions at the moment.
i never had a job, because i was at school, now i am not at school and want to work, but since my lack of experience i am slightly confused, u think any bookstore would hire me?

I would love to work in a bookshop or a tea place, problem is you don’t really get to sit down to much and I have a lower back problem… I have apropriate exercise, I’ve also tried physiotherapy but I only see the benefits if I try not to stand on my feet for too long… has anyone been in a similar situation, have you managed to improve your physical resistance so that you’re able to keep a job you like? many thanks in advance
